Different people develop at different rates, a LEADER must understand this!

April 2, 2010 by Rohit Prabhakar 1 Comment

If you are a leader of any kind you need to be best motivator. Keep a thumb rule in you mind, different people develop at different rates. The best motivators always lookout for the hidden capacities that are best to come. As a leader more than getting laurels the biggest role is to find the best in others and develop it.

If ever you selfish yourself asks you not to do this have a look at history and remember that the best in the world where low or poor performers sometime earlier in their life. Albert Einstein could only speak when he was four years old and read when he was seven. Isaac Newton did bad in school and so did Thomas Edison. Walt Disney was fired by the newspaper editor as he had “No good ideas”.

As a leader the primary role is to develop every team member to his/her best. Always remember “The Best is yet to Come”

Leaders, expect the best from team!

Expect the Best!

Expect the Best!

Good leaders don’t waste time on the weakness of the team members as they concentrate only on the strengths of others. They don’t waste too much of time on doing the postmortem of the failures of their team members. Instead they look for the strengths of the individual team members. They understand that more than anything else their attitude determines the outcome of the efforts of the entire team as it will determine the orientation of the entire team. If the leader expects good things from the team and shows the confidence on the entire team, the team members will go extra mile to live up to the expectations or to exceed it.

Remember the age old golden rule:

To be a good leader we need to learn the art of finding the good side of everyone and building on that.

That is how the brotherhood strengthens and a team is built! That is what I have successfully practiced all these years.

Team Dynamics

December 9, 2009 by Rohit Prabhakar Leave a Comment

Understanding team dynamics is one of the complex things that most of technical geeks feel left behind on.

In order to motivate your team you need to build high morale among the team members. As a team constitutes of few individuals that may have different personalities and can cause conflicts. In order to build high morale a leader should always allow a room for some conflict. A leader should not be worried about conflicts among the team as these are critical for evolution of a better team. This allows to build a corridor of communication that can be used by any unhappy employee or team member. As the team is now aware of an existence of such corridor this helps to break all mental walls and give the team members a feeling of comfort. And this is one of the key ingredients of high morale in a team.
