Success Plan: Tuesday Morning Coaching

September 15, 2011 by Rohit Prabhakar Leave a Comment

“In just 2 days of reading the chapter “Focus inside the boat” I have seen a big change in myself as I always thought the time management is a skill that I need to work on. But the reality was I need to learn attention management!”

This book is among the top ten books in my reading list. Every chapter is worth reading and especially the one which asks to focus inside the boat. This book is must read for anyone who looks forward to improve in all domains of life. Anyone who is going through some professional or personal challenges must read it right now!

Here are the eight lessons that the books shares as a Sucess Plan:

  1. No matter what – I accept responsibility and move forward.
  2. And then some – I give what is expected and then some.
  3. Consider it done- I am consistent and dependable
  4. Above all else- I adhere to my values
  5. From now on- I learn from my mistakes and welcome change
  6. See it, feel it, trust it, do it – I am a champion goal setter
  7. Focus inside the boat- I manage my attention and defeat procrastination
  8. Knowledge is power – I am a lifelong learner

It is not about me, It is about Them

September 15, 2011 by Rohit Prabhakar Leave a Comment

After reading a book titled “Go-Giver Sell More” by Bob Burg and John David Mann I learned that every action should remind me that “It is not about me, It is about Them”

Awesome, Fantastic, Life Changing, thought changing……………..book! I am totally moved by each and every line and each and every chapter.

What a great thought process Bob Burg has that he has captured every single thing that every person (in sales or not) should know. And it is not about knowing but it is about what we should implement.

Thanks to this book, both my professional and personal life has seen a huge positive change in last 5 days.

Thanks a lot to the author for writing this book and to my mentor for giving me this book. Thanks a lot!”

Nine Things Successful People Do Differently

June 7, 2011 by Rohit Prabhakar Leave a Comment

A must read blog by Heidi Grant Halvorson at Harvard Business Review. The following are the 9 things:

  1. Get specific.
  2. Seize the moment to act on your goals.
  3. Know exactly how far you have left to go.
  4. Be a realistic optimist.
  5. Focus on getting better, rather than being good.
  6. Have grit.
  7. Build your willpower muscle.
  8. Don’t tempt fate.
  9. Focus on what you will do, not what you won’t do.

Never Give Up your dream

Why? Read this powerful real life story that I have read in many books. Here is the story from book “Think & Grow Rich” in section named “Three Feet & Fifty Cents”

One of the most common causes of failure is the habit of quitting when one is overtaken by temporary defeat. Every person is guilty of this mistake at one time or another.

An uncle of RU Darby was caught by the

Think the best

January 22, 2011 by Rohit Prabhakar Leave a Comment

Think the best of life and people
Don’t waste your time thinking feeble

Make your mind behave the way
Of who you want to be today

Think success before the fact
Let it shine through word and act

Visualize who you will be
Thinking shapes your destiny.

Uplift and Inspire

October 4, 2010 by Rohit Prabhakar 8 Comments

I watched them tearing a building down,
A gang of men in a busy town,
With a ho heave ho and a lusty yell,
They swung a beam and a side wall fell
And I asked the foremen, “Are these men skilled,
The men he’d hire if he had had to build?”
He gave a laugh and said, “No indeed!
Just a common laborer is all I need.
I can easily wreck in a day or two
What builders have taken a year to do.”
I asked myself as I went my way,
Which of these roles have I tried to play.
Am I a builder who works with care,
Measuring life with rule and square?
Or am I a wrecker as I walks the town ,
Content with the labor of tearing down.
