The village falls in the Indora tehsil of Kangra district in Himachal Pradesh. The village is located in the western end of Kangra District and adjacent to Damtal. Damtal serves as the gateway to Himachal Pradesh. It is a major industrial town and is around 10 km south of Pathankot, on the Punjab-Himachal Pradesh border.
Prime attractions are the ancient temples of Shri Gupeshwara Mahadev and Shri Ram Gopal in Damtal. There is a monastery which houses beautiful Mughal style paintings, depicting legends of Lord Ram, Shiva, Krishna and other deities. There is another ancient temple of Shiva and Parvati at Kathgarh. The village is demarcated by hills on the two sides and by river Chakki on the other side.
The town is linked with Nurpur and Pathankot by road. Pathankot Airport and Pathankot Railway Station are the nearest airport and railway station respectively.
