Scrum has 3 type of roles

Product Owner

A Product Owner compiles all the changes planned for the product and prioritizes the possible functionalities. - “Scrum in five minutes” by SOFTHOUSE

  • Product Owner defines the features of the product and also sets the priority
  • Product Owner decides the release date and content of the product
  • Product Owner is  responsible for the profitability of the product
  • Product Owner can adjust features and priority every iteration as and when required
  • Product Owner accept or reject work results of the sprint

ScrumMaster

The Scrum Master coaches the development team, removes any possible impediments and constantly works to ensure that the team has the best possible circumstances for realizing the goals fixed for the Sprint. - “Scrum in five minutes” by SOFTHOUSE

  • ScrumMaster represents management to the project
  • ScrumMaster is responsible for enacting Scrum values and practices
  • ScrumMaster can remove noise (unwanted interference)
  • ScrumMaster has to ensure that the team is fully functional and productive
  • ScrumMaster enables close cooperation across all roles and functions
  • ScrumMaster shields the team from external interferences

The Team

Together with a user, the project members form a Scrum Team consisting of 5–9 people. During discussions with the Product Owner, the goal of the Sprint is determined and the prioritized functionality is broken down into detailed tasks. The team is self-organized and the members have a joint responsibility for the results. - “Scrum in five minutes” by SOFTHOUSE

  • The team comprises typically 5-9 people
  • The team is full-time and Cross-functional as it may include manager, programmer, tester, designer, Usability Expert, database programmer, database administrator
  • Teams are self-organizing
  • Membership should change only between sprints
